In cities and industrial areas, children live on footpaths and streets due to poverty, migration, homelessness, and family challenges. Instead of classrooms, they grow up surrounded by traffic, construction sites, child labour, exploitation, crime, and unsafe environments.
Struggling for daily survival, they are denied their fundamental right to education and the opportunity to dream of a better future.
For 25+ years, Astha Kiran has worked to improve education, health, safety, and holistic development, especially for the girl child. Yet many children remain disconnected from formal schooling and vulnerable to long-term poverty.

THE SOLUTION
Shiksha Sarthi – Bringing School to the Streets
To bridge this gap, Astha Kiran launched Shiksha Sarthi — a School on Wheels.
Shiksha Sarthi is a mobile classroom inside a specially designed van.
Instead of waiting for children to reach school, the school reaches them.
The van travels to:
• Slum areas
• Construction sites
• Streets and footpaths
It delivers structured learning to children who cannot access formal education — bringing books, teachers, and hope directly to their doorstep.
Shiksha Sarthi restores more than education.
It restores confidence, dignity, opportunity, and the courage to dream again.
