About Us
So far, Astha Kiran has supported 10000 children directly by connecting them to free and sustained education under “Shiksha Jyoti” and “Support a child” programme while the indirectly it has supported children in the field of Education, Sports, Arts and Crafts, Health, Sports & Drama Society. Looking at the needs of the society, we have also expanded our curriculum to not only academic but also to Life Skill education, Sexual and Reproductive health and Rights and most importantly a journey from self to society.
Our Mission & Vision
To reach out to the vulnerable and neglected children from the slums and the children from the poor and marginalized families and enable them to become self-reliant responsible and contributing citizens by providing them suitable formal and vocational education.

Letter from Secretary
I really feel glad as I write this to you all, it has been 21years of establishment of Astha Kiran. I want to thank and congratulate my family of Astha Kiran who have laid the milestones of the Foundation and contributed their part in gratifying the objectives of the foundation.
The journey started with teaching the underprivileged children on the road side of Charbagh Railway Station, Lucknow and went on to establishing various centers at Lucknow, U.P. But my motives remained that is to be able to provide sustained education for all.
I believe if our vision is clear and we are faithful in our work, we can overcome any challenge, and for Astha Kiran, I can say my team has been an immense support. Since the children have no prior experience any educational activities, it is difficult to bring them into one and hence we started by conducting sports and other activities to also help them in generate an interest in group activities, this has really helped us.
To enhance the interest and empathy of guardians towards children and their education, our team of Teachers and co- facilitators have led numerous community meetings, school management meetings and have significantly brought behavior change communication in parents where they have started taking keen interest in their children’s education. Students from Astha Kiran are now living a decent life & some are also pursuing higher studies from reputed colleges.
Nai Roshni, started in 2014 is yet another milestone we were able establish for girl’s education. With time it was realized that it is necessary to bring in the education of girls in the main stream and equal opportunities are given to them.
Not only with the vision that they will teach their generations but a birth right that is given to all children irrespective of the caste, class, religion or background they belong.
This year again, we take a step forward toward main streaming education for all, giving the children a right direction and path to follow and understand the way of living through that.
I wish that with support of each one we are able to reinforce more girls into education.

We understand the importance & effectiveness of education for girl children hence we do whatever it takes to ensure that every child has a chance to grow up healthy, educated and Safe choose the best for her. And can
- To develop and implement initiatives for holistic development for under privileged girls where they are able to pursue education and and also learn life skills.
- To escalate accessibility & acceptability over girls education for their parents/guardians and provide the girls with resources.
- To create a safer environment for girls to experience the positive nurturing of their dream and Aspirations, thus bringing out their best potentials
